Craft Activity – rainbow crayons

Materials

  • old colouring crayons
  • chopping board
  • cooling rack
  • kitchen knife
  • mini muffin tin

How to make it

  1. Ask an adult to cut the crayons into 1-cm long pieces.
  2. Preheat the oven to 65 °C. Fill the muffin tin with mixes of different coloured pieces of crayon.
  3. Bake for 8 to 9 minutes or until the wax has melted. Allow them to cool and take them out of the tin.
  4. If you find that it is difficult to get them out, place them in a freezer for around an hour – they should pop out. You can use your rainbow crayons to quickly produce wonderful multicoloured pictures.
