Review: Read-along Fairy Tales

Roo really enjoys her story books and each term at school the focus on a different fairy tale. So when we received Read-along Fairy Tales, she was so pleased to see someย familiarย stories.

This book has nine stories, each spread over four pages:

  • The Gingerbread Man
  • The Three Little Pigs
  • The Princess and The Pea (my favourite)
  • Little Red Riding Hood
  • Rapunzel
  • The Ugly Duckling
  • Goldilocks and The Three Bears (Roo’s favourite)
  • Hansel and Gretel
  • Jack and The Beanstalk

The pages are sturdy cardboard so hard wearing and great for little fingers. Each page is colourful and illustrated beautifully.ย The book is aimed at 3+ years, foundation stage. Encouraging imagination, stimulating senses and speaking skills.

As Roo is just learning to read at school she unfortunately cannot just pick up a book and get lost in the story, which is why I love that this book comes with an audio CD. I decided to download the stories onto my iPod so that she could listen to them at any time.

Overall, this is aย sturdy book packed with all the fairy tales you remember from your childhood. I loved that this came complete with an audio CD, not only so children can listen whilst they following the story in the book but great to put into the car too. Theย illustrationsย are beautiful and make each page eye catching and engaging for your child to look at.ย Roo enjoyed listening to stories whilst looking at book and the pictures, even managing to repeat some of the key words in the stories, i.e. ‘I’ll huff and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house down!’

This book would be great for boys or girls and would make a wonderful birthday or Christmas present.
