Alice, Designer<\/span><\/p>\n Tell us a bit about you and how you came to work at Priddy Books.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n After studying Graphic Design at Chelsea College of Arts, I went on to work in the gift industry where I designed products from initial ideas, all the way through to production. Priddy Books is my first job in publishing and I\u2019ve loved bringing all my previous artworking skills into this role.<\/span><\/p>\n What does a normal day look like for you?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n My day always starts with a big cup of tea! <\/span>I then begin working on my front list titles and any new ideas. Another part of my job is artworking images. Priddy books has a lot of photographic books with pictures that need cutting out in Photoshop. This requires a lot of precision and attention to detail.<\/span><\/p>\n What is your favorite part of your job?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n I love the variety of working on multiple projects, as no two days are the same! It\u2019s also a really special feeling to know that the books I\u2019ll work on will provide valuable learning experiences for children and develop their imagination.<\/span><\/p>\n What bit of your job do you think people would be most surprised to learn you do?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n This role has such a great mix of responsibility. When I\u2019m not designing, I\u2019m working on more technical elements such as writing briefs for Illustrators, generating bar codes, crediting image sources and creating sales material for each title.<\/span><\/p>\n Which book have you worked on that you feel most proud of?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n I\u2019ve just begun designing my first two front list titles in the Let\u2019s Pretend series, called \u2018Pilot\u2019 and \u2018Teacher\u2019. I\u2019ve really loved putting my creativity into these books.
