I just received a calendar from one of our printers in China and I notice that next year is the Year of the Dragon. Unlike in western culture, the dragon is regarded as a divine beast in China – it is said to be a deliverer of good fortune and people born in dragon years are honoured and respected. The year of the dragon is one that brings happiness and good fortune. So hopefully it will be a good year for all of us.
And rather than a Christmas card (you probably have loads of those already) here’s a picture of me and my mum – she was 80 this year so deserves a picture in her son’s blog… but I would like to point out that the year of the dragon and my mum are not linked in any way, well apart from the honoured and respected bit!
