Celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights this weekend. Why not head down to Trafalgar Square for Diwali on the Square, a fantastic event packed with lots of fun things to see and do? There will be free sarees, dancing, displays, stalls and a tasty food court! The event is free and starts from 2pm.
Be sure to get hold of a copy of Bright Baby Touch and Feel Diwali, too. Each page features a familiar Diwali picture including oil lamps, fantastic fireworks and Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth. It’s an ideal book for parents to share with their young children as a first step to discovering Diwali traditions.
