Meet the Team—Kerri-Ann

Kerri-Ann, senior designer

Tell us a bit about you and how you came to work at Priddy Books.

My career in publishing started in 2013 at a children’s book publisher further north, but I have now found my way to London and to Priddy where I have been for almost a year and a half.

What does a normal day look like for you?

My day starts with a coffee (very important) and then onto designing our latest titles. These can range from complicated mechanism books to activity books with stickers and even box sets full of different varieties of books!

What is your favorite part of your job?

I love to draw so my favorite part of my job is sketching out ideas for covers and what could be inside. This helps our illustrators to visualize how we envisage the final book.

What bit of your job do you think people would be most surprised to learn you do?

I find that people often confuse a designer with an illustrator! Although I don’t draw the final book, I come up with the composition and layout to make sure the images work with the text to make a full package which is equally as important.

Do you have any highlights in the Priddy Books list?

I am very proud of Peek A Boo Pumpkin, an upcoming Halloween title for 2020 that required a lot of trial and error and creativity. It is full of pull tabs that reveal exciting Halloween surprises!
