Beáta, International Sales and Production Executive
Tell us a bit about you and how you came to work at Priddy Books.
I did a Masters in Publishing course at UCL in 2014/2015 and was drawn to the world of Rights because of the travelling involved. I joined Priddy in October last year, just in time to attend Frankfurt Book Fair.
What does a normal day look like for you?
As a part of the International Sales team, my job is to sell our books to publishers from around the world. A normal day will consist of emailing foreign publishers to discuss our books, liaising with printers about the production of our co-editions and lots of calculations! I also travel frequently to visit customers.
What is your favorite part of your job?
It’s always really nice to meet customers face-to-face at book fairs or at their offices after spending so much time talking to them via email.
What bit of your job do you think people would be most surprised to learn you do?
The sales team at Priddy are also involved in the production of co-editions, so I negotiate with our printers to make sure we get the best possible price for our customers.
Do you have any highlights in the Priddy Books list?
I’m excited about our new search & find series My First Places, which includes My First Town and My First Farm. The illustrations are lovely and I like the simple, clear concept: children can open the giant flaps on each spread and discover what lies inside each store or building.
