Tom’s Travel Diary – Paris

I left London St Pancras at 7 o’clock on Thursday morning, at which point it was still dark. By the time I arrived in Paris, the sun was shining and I was ready to make my way to my first meeting. Then disaster struck; the wheels on my suitcase broke, turning what could have been a slow and leisurely stroll through the city’s leafy boulevards into a battle between man and suitcase. However, I did make my meetings and even found time to visit a few bookshops. My day ended on the Avenue des Champs Élysées, where the sun was setting behind the Arc de Triomphe, at which point my luggage issues didn’t seem so bad.
