Ingredients
- 1 onion
- 500 g minced beef
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Lettuce leaves
- 2 tomatoes
- 4 burger buns or rolls
How to make it
- In a bowl, mix together the diced onion, minced beef and egg.
- Once combined, divide into four and use your hands to mould into a ball. Press each ball down lightly, making sure all four are the same size so that they cook evenly – about 3 cm thick. Cover in cling-film and leave in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Brush the burgers with oil and grill or barbecue for five minutes. Turn over the burgers and brush with oil again, then grill for another five minutes until cooked through.
- Place the burgers in the buns and add lettuce, sliced tomato and any other fillings – how about salsa, cheese, bacon or gherkin? Serve with a salad.
